Job Responsibilities and Duties:   This is a 10-month, full-time faculty position, with primary teaching responsibilities in the CAATE-accredited Master of Athletic Training program with release time for Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator duties.  The initial appointment is for three years in a non-tenure track position with the possibility of conversion to a tenure-track appointment after three years depending on program needs and a successful third-year review.  Teaching responsibilities include graduate athletic training courses and some undergraduate exercise science courses. This individual reports through the MAT Program Director to the department chair of Exercise Science and Athletic Training.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Teaching, generally twenty-four semester hours per academic year (release time provided for administrative duties)
  • Clinical Education Coordinator for Athletic Training responsible for preceptor training and development, clinical site evaluations, developing additional opportunities for student clinical experiences, administration of clinical education phase of athletic training curriculum

This position is a 12-month tenure-track (FW campus) pharmacogenomics and pharmaceutical sciences faculty position.

Essential job functions:  Consists of three domains:  teaching, service and scholarship.

Teaching (55-65%)

  • Provide quality instruction in on-campus and online didactic courses and laboratory courses in pharmacogenomics and related topics.
  • Collaborate with other faculty to further develop the Master of Science in Pharmacogenomics program for effective delivery of the curriculum with emphasis in the distance-learning environment and dual degree PharmD/PGx. This includes creating, developing and evaluating innovative teaching methods which prepare students for the application of pharmacogenomics in a wide variety of settings (e.g., research laboratories, clinical laboratories, clinical settings).
  • Work closely with the laboratory technical specialist to keep the pharmacogenomics lab supplied and in regulatory compliance
  • Serve as course coordinator in both the pharmacogenomics program and the pharmacy program, as assigned.
  • Develop and teach elective courses in both the Pharmacogenomics program and the Pharmacy program, as necessary.
  • Continuously strive to incorporate and introduce timely topics and cutting-edge concepts in relevant areas.

  • Provide a one week (40 hour) lab course to develop distance learners, and others (such as relevant pharmacogenomic companies)

Scholarship (15-25%)

  • Pursue fundable programs appropriate to the faculty member’s discipline and interests (on-campus primarily)
  • Disseminate the results of scholarly endeavors in appropriate forums, including publications, presentations and teaching.

Service (15-25%)

  • Serve as a faculty mentor to on campus and distance-learning Master of Science in Pharmacogenomics students.
  • Serve as a faculty mentor to Pharmacy and PGx Students

Position:  Shuttle Bus Driver

Department:  Student Involvement

Campus:  North Manchester

Position overview:  The Shuttle Bus Driver assumes a professional role as a University driver. This position is responsible for operating 14 passenger buses and 14 passenger vans as a part of the Spartan Shuttle Program. The Spartan Shuttle Program will take students to surrounding towns, Huntington, Warsaw, Wabash, and Fort Wayne. This position is primarily based on predetermined routes and times. Riders will typically be students, and at times, faculty, and staff. Hours will vary according to the needs of the department, but will typically operate on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The shuttle service is scheduled to run primarily throughout the academic year. This is a part-time position.

Essential job functions: 

  • Safely transporting passengers from one destination to the other.
  • Promptly arriving at collection points prior to departure times.
  • Meet and greet all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Confirm that all passengers are present and record no-shows.
  • Ensure adherence to passenger limits, both seated and standing.
  • Ensure vehicle is functioning correctly before and after each shift, reporting any issues to the Physical Plant immediately.
  • Reporting any behavioral issues to the director of student involvement.
  • Ensure the shuttle is fueled, well-maintained, and presentable at all times.
  • Complete mileage log at beginning and end of each shift.
  • Observe all relevant traffic and safety laws.

Qualifications: 

  • GED Required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must successfully complete the driving test administered by the Manchester University Physical Plant
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and calmly as situations demand
  • Self-motivated and independent worker
  • Strong student-focused outlook
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours

Work schedule:  This is a part-time, non-exempt position with the majority of hours scheduled on evenings and weekends.

Position:  Social Media Coordinator

Department:  Marketing

Campus:  North Manchester

Position overview:  Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Coordinator will help define and execute specific campaigns and strategies. Duties include social community management, content creation, creating an editorial calendar, posting on behalf of the University, interviewing, photography, video creation and coordination with outside individuals and departments. Strong writing skills, message segmentation, an understanding of the current and upcoming social networks, experience managing accounts, and ability to work creatively and take ownership of projects is a must. Should have a basic understanding of web analytics and data-driven decision-making. Experience with Photoshop/Illustrator, photography, and possibly video editing is desired. A knowledge of Manchester is helpful but can be developed and is not required.

Essential job functions: 

  • Seek out stories and events to promote through social media channels.
  • Develop and implement the editorial calendar for institutional social media accounts.
  • Create original written, photographic, video and graphical content.
  • Post and interact with users on institutional accounts.
  • Monitor and moderate comments on accounts.
  • Hire, manage and train student workers and interns.
  • Help design and implement social media campaigns to meet University needs.
  • Serve as the lead person on social media in the event of crisis communications.
  • Oversee all University social media accounts, ensuring compliance to social media policy, and update policy as needed.
  • Promote social media institutionally and provide training to faculty, staff, students and alumni.
  • Update and oversee social media plan and coordination with overall marketing strategic plan.
  • Encourage campus collaborations and best practices in social media.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and maintain agreements as necessary.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preference in creative arts and/or marketing
  • Prior content development or organizational social media management preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the public in appropriate ways that promote Manchester positively
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Desire to grow professionally and participate in professional organizations as appropriate
  • Commitment to the values and goals of Manchester University
  • Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a team
  • Must be well organized, personable, driven, mature, dependable, articulate and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize

Work schedule:  This is a full time, 12-month, exempt, staff position.  The hours per week will vary depending on the project cycle; however, they are generally forty (40) hours.  Evening and weekend hours may be required at specific times in the year.
